Practicing how to break down complex forms into basic planes, then applying that understanding during the shading process. This is a skill that requires experience and extensive practice. However, the control of value and texture using charcoal has shown improvement.

Alesha continued practicing with charcoal on basic plaster forms. She is gradually getting used to the medium. The only difficulty is that her fingernails are quite long, which limits her ability to handle the charcoal with her fingertips.

This time we had some difficulty in expressing the light and shadow of an object. Although the details are clear, it is necessary to learn how to separate light and dark more effectively.

Today she learned more about surface treatment and light–dark comparison, though she still had some issues with controlling black-and-white values.

First session of charcoal basic, Alisha captured the process very quick
I hope she can have a good charcoal skill within 1-2 months
