Fine Art Portfolio
A visual journal by a traveling engineer.
Born in Belgium and raised in France, I spent the last few years working in Hanoi as a Hydraulic and Environment Engineer, studying the logic of nature. In 2024, I decided to channel this fascination into learning how to paint. Now, as I transition from engineering to a one-year journey around the world, art has become my ultimate companion. Through the simplicity of watercolor and pencils, I am simply capturing the world on the move and creating memories through my travels.
Two-year learning path — each phase built on the last.
First steps in the studio — mastering proportion, line weight, and learning the fundamentals of academic seeing.
The core of the foundational study. Developing a deep sensibility for charcoal's tactile and expressive qualities to master form and tonal value.
Transitioning into color. A deep dive into oil and acrylic mediums, focusing on color mixing, layering techniques, and still-life composition.
Capturing the essence and gesture through rapid life sketching, while exploring initial color layouts using mixed media.
Mastering fluid watercolor techniques to quickly capture scenery and space.

Beyond the lab and technical flows, art has become my sanctuary—a place to slow down and observe the world with my own hands.
I am deeply grateful to my teachers and this studio for the patience and critiques that allow me to grow. My journey continues with every trip, every season, and every new story waiting to be painted.
TEACHER'S COMMENT
She is precise with pencil studies, accurate with proportions, and incredibly patient with her hatching. She spent a long time mastering charcoal, developing a real feeling for the material. While transitioning into color brought some initial confusion and challenges, Kathy never hesitated to push through. She continuously stepped out of her comfort zone, experimenting with different mediums and joining live model drawing sessions with an open mind.
