She was able to build up the figure very quickly, with great enthusiasm and style, even experimenting with some of her own techniques — good job!

I’m beginning to see signs of comfort and freedom in her charcoal drawing style. I hope she recognizes this and maintains it until the work is completed.

I think she has developed a more refined understanding of how to control the tonal values in charcoal drawing, although more detailed observation is still needed.

Switching to a familiar but more complex still-life setup:
After a long break, issues have started to appear in both drawing construction and observational skills. Controlling values with charcoal also requires much more practice.

This is the first session of the charcoal drawing course. With her existing foundation, Camilla can construct forms, add shading, and separate light and dark fairly quickly. However, she still needs more time to gain control and become proficient in handling charcoal on paper.
