Continuing with the plaster skull study. Esther’s charcoal handling has improved significantly.
The drawing structure still needs more careful refinement and more time spent on it.

She practiced the planar head sculpture again, this time from a profile view. She was able to block in the structure fairly quickly, but she needs to make more comparisons and evaluations throughout the process, especially in tightly structured studies like this one.

In the still-life fruit painting, Esther completed the work quite well, especially the flowers, which look very lively.
In the next session, Esther will try working with glass material.

Experimenting with still-life drawing of various materials — wood, fabric, glass, and paper. Esther did a good job depicting the textures of glass and wood. Hopefully, she’ll continue to improve quickly in the upcoming lessons.

Esther’s first test drawing was impressive — her charcoal strokes were strong and confident, with accurate composition and proportions. It feels as if she has long experience working with charcoal. Very good!
