Japan
(Teacher’s feedback for each lesson under comments section)
One quiet Sunday morning, Kanade, a small girl from Japan, walked into our studio with her mother. She didn’t say much at first — just looked around with wide, curious eyes. Then, she picked up a brush.
With gentle encouragement from her mom, Sayumi, she began to paint. Shy but determined, she surprised us with her courage and focus. It didn’t take long for her to settle in, surrounded by another young artist, Tayuna. Laughter, paint, and new friendships filled the space.
We’re always happy to welcome more Japanese students and expat families to our space. Art becomes a shared language here — a way for children to express themselves and connect, no matter where they’re from.
At Art Tutor Hanoi, friends are made, creativity blossoms, and confidence grows — one painting at a time.

Today she draw from still life object – great results! She can follow the teacher’s instructions well and from then, can draw on her own. I hope she will always be confident in drawing.

Today Kanade learnt how to draw fishes in aquarium using gouache paint. She learnt:
– how to paint using fingers

– tips on how to draw an easy fish
She also painted a lovely painting of her mom with flowers, and learnt how to draw: rose, tulip, and daisy.
She will finish these drawings by next class!

She also made an adorable drawing of herself with teacher Minh Anh. Thank you, Kanade!

This is Kanade’s trial lesson and she is very quick to learn different techniques with gouache paint. She is a strong girl and is always curious – a great personality for an artist!
