Tried with self portrait today, Tayuna is a jazz dancer in this drawing. the face proportions look quite good. She is also learning new brush strokes with acrylic paint.

Designing a Lì Xì (Lucky Money Envelope) and practice dividing space. She created some interesting leading lines, and I appreciate the creative message with the letters! She also learnt new watercolor techniques, but it’s ok to go slowly sometimes!

Welcome back, Tayuna. Today she tried painting without using black paint – and the results looked quite good. I appreciate the use of complementary colors, and different values of the same color. With some help, she learnt to do some brushstroke techniques in the green vase.

Next drawing, she tried drawing the plush toys at our studio + herself and her mom. Lovely painting! She has a good feeling about pastel colors. She just needs more practice on using more intense shades.

Tayuna paints carefully, she learns to mix colors in a 3-value scale, and even compare between values of different colors – excellent! She also tried out a simple composition, and learnt to compare different objects so that they are in a good proportion.

Tayuna is very lovely! This is her trial lesson, and it’s great that she can draw bigger than before. With some encouragement, she was able to use more colors in her paintings – and even found out new effects of acrylic paint: how to create textures, and different shades of green. Good job!
