Meet Sayang — our student from Indonesia
Sayang came to Vietnam to study both art and Angklung, a traditional Indonesian musical instrument.
From her very first day at Art Tutor Hanoi, she has shown incredible patience and dedication — learning drawing step by step, from the most basic exercises.
She has a special love for black and white, so most of her works are done in charcoal. Through countless portrait and still-life studies, she has built a solid foundation and developed a calm, expressive style that truly reflects her personality.
After more than a year of consistent practice, it feels like she’s now ready to begin creating her own charcoal compositions — a new chapter in her artistic journey.
✨ We’re proud of you, Sayang!

It was her first time sketching human poses. In some drawings, she was able to capture the movement of the pose well, but she had some problems when trying to draw the details.

Continue to highlight the light and dark areas with still life paintings. It is quite difficult to determine the light and dark areas in a composition with many objects and materials
