Meet Sayang — our student from Indonesia

Sayang came to Vietnam to study both art and Angklung, a traditional Indonesian musical instrument.
From her very first day at Art Tutor Hanoi, she has shown incredible patience and dedication — learning drawing step by step, from the most basic exercises.

She has a special love for black and white, so most of her works are done in charcoal. Through countless portrait and still-life studies, she has built a solid foundation and developed a calm, expressive style that truly reflects her personality.

After more than a year of consistent practice, it feels like she’s now ready to begin creating her own charcoal compositions — a new chapter in her artistic journey.

✨ We’re proud of you, Sayang!

Continued with the sketch, this time working at A1 scale. The tree branches still feel a bit stiff—we’ll refine them in the next session.

A new sketch featuring a lemon tree and a lizard. It’s a promising study that could develop into a strong final piece.

Sketching to find a portrait composition — this is a fundamental and challenging exercise. Well done, Sayang!
