Teacher critique

From Ho Huu An: I think you've put a lot of care into this painting. The characters are really interesting, and you captured the spirit of Puerto Rican culture very well. Your use of texture is one of the strongest parts of the piece, and the overall composition works nicely.

I only have one small comment, and it's not a very important one. I think you could be a bit more relaxed with how you describe the forms. Right now, every character is rendered in a fairly similar way. You could let some areas stay flatter, or suggest certain details with just a few lines instead of fully rendering everything. I think that would give the painting even more variety and make it feel more dynamic.

Like I said, it's only a small suggestion. Keep going — I really enjoyed this one.
