One quiet Sunday morning, Kanade, a small girl from Japan, walked into our studio with her mother. She didn’t say much at first — just looked around with wide, curious eyes. Then, she picked up a brush.

With gentle encouragement from her mom, Sayumi, she began to paint. Shy but determined, she surprised us with her courage and focus. It didn’t take long for her to settle in, surrounded by another young artist, Tayuna. Laughter, paint, and new friendships filled the space.

We’re always happy to welcome more Japanese students and expat families to our space. Art becomes a shared language here — a way for children to express themselves and connect, no matter where they’re from.

At Art Tutor Hanoi, friends are made, creativity blossoms, and confidence grows — one painting at a time.

Line drawing and great coloring with pencil! We’ll continue next time.

Today, Kanade created a fun drawing of Japanese monsters playing tug-of-war. Her mom helped develop the idea and composition, while Kanade brought the scene to life with her own drawing.
