Today was a surprise! Sansa brought her own plush toys to class. They were so adorable! Seeing her draw them and hearing her talk about them could put a smile on anyone’s face.
Looking forward to her next artworks! Maybe we can try other media next time.

This time, Sansa completed a clay drawing she started a long time ago. I really love the new flowers she added, they remind me of wagashi, vibrant and delicious-looking.
She also worked together with her parent on a still-life drawing of a teddy bear, which was a lovely shared moment.
In this piece, she thoughtfully differentiated textures through her to describe the materials of each object. Splendid work!

Today’s lesson was still-life drawing. Sansa combined paint and markers and manage to fill the entire composition with color. The bird and the book are quite close in tone to the background, but this helped the vase stand out more. She also used line work to separate the bird from the background so it wouldn’t blend in.
All in all, excellent work, Sansa!

This week, Sansa worked on a piece about protecting the ocean. She drew a character feeling sad because the aquarium is dirty, and another character cleaning the trash to protect the environment and sea animals.
The coloring can feel a bit busy in the final piece, but the story, composition, and color choices are all very strong. Her use of layered colors to create the water effect is especially interesting.

Today, we worked on an exercise inspired by Henri Matisse’s cut-out works. Sansa used pieces of colored paper to build both the details and the landscape for her cat composition. After that, we also created another drawing. I really liked her work today!
