Meet Sayang — our student from Indonesia
Sayang came to Vietnam to study both art and Angklung, a traditional Indonesian musical instrument.
From her very first day at Art Tutor Hanoi, she has shown incredible patience and dedication — learning drawing step by step, from the most basic exercises.
She has a special love for black and white, so most of her works are done in charcoal. Through countless portrait and still-life studies, she has built a solid foundation and developed a calm, expressive style that truly reflects her personality.
After more than a year of consistent practice, it feels like she’s now ready to begin creating her own charcoal compositions — a new chapter in her artistic journey.

Continuing to refine the painting, adding more leaves in the background to enhance the sense of depth, along with a few insects.

Focusing more on the detailed rendering of the lizard, the painting is starting to look complete—very good.

Sayang continues working on the piece, adjusting the composition and starting to focus on carefully rendering the lizard.

Continued refining the piece, adding leaves to soften the branches. In the next session, we will focus on rendering the lizard in detail.
